Looking for radio stations to test our monetization services

Hi,

We're introducing a new monetization platform for webradios : http://www.openstream.co

How it works:
We insert pre-roll and mid-roll audio advertising in your stream (no graphic or video ads). Radios are paid on a cost per thousand impressions (CPM) basis.

What we're looking for:
New users who can give us feedback and help us improving the services.

So if you run a webradio and want to make (more) money from it, we'd like to have you onboard!
To apply, you just need to know your stream URL.

Openstream is free, easy to use with no obligation.

We have lots of campaigns running right now and a dozen of radio stations already using the platform (Beta). Now we need to identify the frictions and make it as easy/fast/fun as possible for people to use it.

That's why we'd really appreciate your help! You can test OpenStream here : http://openstream.co/#/sign-up?ir

Fell free to ask if you have questions or comments.

Thank you.

Hi,

First I'd like to thank all of you who joined OpenStream. Hope you like it. We'll use your feedback to improve the services.

I'm collecting all the questions we had and I will answer them in this thread (you can ask here too). It might be helpful for new users.

For those who hesitate or who are not interested in monetizing their radio with audio advertising, it would be great to know why.
Feel free to comment.

If you want to give it a try and monetize your webradio, sign up here: http://openstream.co/#/sign-up?ir

I'll personally follow new users.

Thanks!

Hi Oliver. Won't advertising make my listeners tune out, my station is worldwide, so no advert would be local enough, and won't it also change the status of my stations licence as a non profit?

P.s. I don't own the station but if I did?

This is a very small offering for 1000 potential leads?
"you’ll make between $2 and $5 per 1000 targeted listeners. Sometimes more."

And this is also unusual. Why can't you pay whatever monthly revenue instead of threshold payments?
" you're paid when your earnings reach the payment threshold ($50), as long as there are no holds on your account"

Please answer my above questions please.

Hi Stevy6,

Thanks for asking because that's one special feature we have: we target almost every country with local ads. We use IP geolocation to identify the listener's country then play a local ad (we have deals with worldwide advertisers). So no worries about it, each listener will hear a different ad targeted to his country.

+ If you re-invest your revenue in your orgranization (and don't make profit) then you're still a non profit.

Is OpenStreams a radio directory? Just wondering.

Hi WhoseLineFan,

No we're not. We're a technology company connecting brands with consumers through audio campaigns.

What we do: we insert audio ads in your stream.

Think Adsense but for webradios (or Adwords if you're an advertiser).

We can monetize your webradio on radio directories, apps, websites, social networks... wherever your audience is.

But we don't exclude, once we'll have enough webradios working with us, to build a radio directory to promote them.

Does this answer your question?

We are in the highest CPM rates if you compare to display advertising. And it keeps growing.
(You can compare: https://www.buysellads.com/buy/leaderboard/id/17).

Also note that they are not leads (it's not CPC). Publishers risk nothing on ad performance with a CPM system and get paid for every impression. For the largest and best-known publishers, this is the pricing standard.

About the payment threshold, it's also a standard paying method in the advertising industry. For example, Google Adsense uses the payment threshold. It's not that we don't want to pay you, it's just that it is easier to manage, especially for small amounts of money. But I know it can be long for webradios with small audience to reach it, we will try to lower it in the future.

Hi, I'm Brazilian. I started using OpenStream a few days ago, so far I've never heard any ads on my radio (www.radiogospelhits.com). Does This Service Really Work Or Is It Bent? Could someone please answer me? Thank you very much in advance!
